Who we are
Surplus Funds USA, LLC is a Florida company with one job: helping former property owners, and the heirs of owners who have died, find out whether a foreclosure or tax deed sale left money behind with the clerk of court, and claim it if it did.
We are part of the Caliber Trust family. Caliber Trust has bought Florida houses since 2016, most of them from owners in some kind of distress, and runs a surplus recovery service. Surplus Funds USA is where that work lives, under its own name, with its own written agreement and the disclosures on every page of this site.
We work on a contingency basis. Our fee is stated in a written agreement you sign before anything is filed, and it is paid only from funds actually recovered. Nothing up front, and nothing if nothing is recovered.
Who you will talk to
A person in our office at 801 Northpoint Parkway, Suite 141, West Palm Beach, Florida. Not a call center, and not a script. If you write to us, a person reads it, looks up the case, and answers you.

Why the disclosures
The same disclosures appear at the bottom of every page on this site. They are there because the people who write to us have usually just lost a home, or a parent, and have a stack of letters from companies they have never heard of. You should be able to see, on every page, that we are not a law firm, that you can claim the surplus yourself at no cost, and that we are paid only from what is actually recovered. If anything on this site seems to say otherwise, the disclosures win, and we would like to hear about it.

Not a law firm. We do not give legal advice or represent you in court. When a claim needs an attorney, we work with Florida counsel.

Not the clerk of court. The clerk holds the surplus and decides claims. We help you make yours; we do not control the outcome or the timing.

Not a lender. We do not charge anything up front; our fee comes only from funds actually recovered, under the agreement you signed.

Not a government agency. Our letters are not court notices, and nothing we send you is an order or a demand.

Surplus Funds USA, LLC is on Florida’s Sunbiz registry, and the clerk of court will always talk to you directly. Then, if you like, tell us about the sale.
Important disclosures

- 02 You may be able to claim surplus funds yourself, directly from the clerk of court, at no cost. You do not need Surplus Funds USA or any other company to file a claim.
- 03 We are paid only from funds actually recovered, under a written agreement you sign before anything is filed. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.
- 04 Nothing on this site guarantees that surplus funds exist for any property, that a claim will be approved, or when a clerk will disburse funds.
- 05 Claim deadlines apply under Florida law (foreclosure surplus: Fla. Stat. § 45.032 and § 45.033; tax deed surplus: Fla. Stat. § 197.582). Missing a deadline may forfeit a claim.
- 06 Consider independent legal advice. Florida legal aid organizations may be able to help at no cost.
